The Chequers Inn
Dating back to the 1600s, this traditional pub is only a 10-minute walk from the house. Antiques decorate the cosy interiors and an open fire glows in the corner. Serving quality real Yorkshire ales and an impressive selection of wines, as well as some delicious dishes. Features a spacious beer garden.
moreThe White Horse
A charming 15-century pub with a spacious decking area to the front. Inside an open fire keeps the atmosphere warm and traditional. Excellent food is also on the cards, along with a great selection of gins and plenty of popular draughts.
moreThe Three Horse Shoes
Yet another pub with a great outside area and plenty of food and drink. Interiors aren't quite as impressively traditional and cosy as others mentioned, but if it's an affordable pint and a bite to eat you're after, this place has you covered.
moreGaucho
Polished black tables, sparkling glassware and mouthwatering menus, Gaucho is one of the most stylish and sophisticated restaurants in Leeds. The beef is sourced solely from the Pampas plains of Argentina and they champion local produce. Quality goes without saying here. You can also make the most of Gaucho's cookery classes, wine tastings and other events.
moreThe Man Behind the Curtain
Possibly the most interesting restaurant you'll ever step into. Part art gallery, part eatery, this place is an experience and a half. With dishes like the Crispy Dahl, the Hand Massaged Octopus and the Birds Nest, there's no telling what new taste you might acquire. The tasting menu is in 10-14 sequences for tables of up to 5 people. You should give yourself a few hours to fully enjoy the experience. Closed Sunday and Monday.
MoreCrafthouse
You only have to go as far as their gallery for a visual feast. Delicious splashes of colour compliment dishes that look like they're going to be entered into an art exhibition. Roast porcini soups, pan roasted salmon and lemon charlottes are just a few of the treats on the menu, along with an excellent variety of wine.
moreLa Bella Vita
What would an Italian be without an impressive range of pasta dishes. That's exactly what you'll find here. Though this might be considered a slightly humbler eatery than some others mentioned, quality isn't sacrificed. The menu includes Tagliatelle Salmone e Roquito, Penne Carbonara and Lasagne Pasticciata, as well as delicious pizzas, sides and desserts.
